Description

Sources Sought This project will increase the capacity of Fuller Road from US Route 1 to Mason Drive. The project will also demolish the North Gate House (Building 3084A) along Fuller Road and relocate the highly prominent Iwo Jima Memorial statue. New construction includes construction of the main entrance to Marine Corps Base Quantico, which is considered high visibility entrances; structures include new gatehouse, two sentry houses, inspection shelters, a canopy structure, personnel weather shelters and other related infrastructure improvements. Work also involves extensive construction in wetlands and floodplains, rework and "relocation" of existing utilities impacted by road work (eg, electrical ductbanks and cables (possibly high voltage), telecommunication ductbanks and cables, water and sewer, natural gas lines); some of the existing lines are Government owned and some are owned by Utility Companies. Coordination with the Corps of Engineers and outside Utility companies will most likely be required. NAICS code is 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a small business size standard of $33.5 million.
