- Description
- This firm-fixed-price contract is for conducting a survey at Superstition Hills on the Naval Air Facility El Centro, CA and analyzing and inverting data collected at the Chocolate Mountain Aerial Gunnery Range, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, AZ Glamis prospect. In the Fall of 2012, the Government obtained Air-FTG and Aeromagnetic data over the Chocolate Mountain Aerial Gunnery Range, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, AZ Glamis prospect. The data was collected via aircraft for 58 lines with 200 meter spacing that were 13 kilometers long. The total length of the survey was 752 linear kilometers and covered an area of 150 square kilometers. The data was acquired and processed by Bell Geospace, Inc. This data was collected to add to the Navy Geothermal Program Office's understanding of the structural controls on a possible geothermal resource for the Glamis prospect. The Contractor will collect ground gravity data within the Superstition Hills on the Naval Air Facility El Centro, CA. The Contractor will create a survey based on points provided by GPO, collect the data, invert and merge the data sets with existing regional gravity. This information will help GPO better understand the regional geologic setting of the Superstition Hills and, when compared with other geologic and geophysical data sets, will lead to a better understanding of a possible geothermal resource.
