Sources Sought Notice Solicitation Number HSCG85-14-S-P45866 USCGC BUCKTHORN (WLI-642) Dockside Repair 100 Foot-Inland Tender The United States Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set-aside an acquisition for HUBZone Set-Aside, or 8(a) Small Business Set-Aside, or Small Disadvantage Business Set-Aside, or Women Owned Small Business Set-Aside, or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside, or Small Business Set-Aside. The small business size standard for NAICS 336611 is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is to perform dockside repairs to the USCGC BUCKTHORN (WLI-642), a 100 foot inland tender. All work will be performed at the unit's homeport: 337 E. Water St., Sault Sainte Marie, MI. 49783. The performance period is forty-three (43) calendar days and is expected to begin on or about July 8, 2014. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, renewing and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC BUCKTHORN (WLI-642). This work will include, but is not limited to: WORK ITEM 1: Main Diesel Engine (MDE) Exhaust Stack Uptakes, Clean WORK ITEM 2: Ship Service Diesel Generator (SSDG) Exhaust Piping, Commercial Clean WORK ITEM 3: Boiler Exhaust Stack Uptakes, Commercial Clean WORK ITEM 4: Hull Fittings (Weight Handling Rigging Hardware), Inspect and Test WORK ITEM 5: Decks - Exterior, Preserve ("Non-Skid Broadcast Grit" System) WORK ITEM 6: Decks - Exterior (Buoy or Construction Deck), Preserve 100% WORK ITEM 7: Deck Covering (Interior Wet/Dry), Renew WORK ITEM 8: Fixed Ballast (Lead Ingots), Encapsulate WORK ITEM 9: Compartment(s) Interior, Lead Dust, Clean WORK ITEM 10: Sewage Piping, Commercial Clean WORK ITEM 11: Boat Boom, Level II Inspect and Repair WORK ITEM 12: Buoy and Cargo Handling Cranes, Level II Inspect and Repair WORK ITEM 13: Compartment Interior (Bulkhead and Overhead Surfaces), Abate Lead and Asbestos Coatings (100%) THE INTENT OF THIS NOTICE IS TO CONFIRM IF THERE ARE ANY COMPANIES CAPABLE OF FULLFILLING THIS REQUIREMENT. The Government requests capability statements and comments from interested businesses regarding the work items described above. Responsible sources are encouraged to submit a response to this notice with a statement of interest on company letterhead. At a minimum, please include the following: 1. Evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers 2.
