Description
The United States Postal Service (USPS) is seeking potential sources to design, produce and distribute the 41 st Edition of The Postal Service Guide to U.S. Stamps, in print and digital formats. The selected supplier will be responsible for: •1. Using the raw Quark data for 40 th Edition of The Postal Service Guide to US Stamps, applying XML tagging, updating stamp values, adding new stamp issues, and maintaining the stamp metadata to create 41th Edition digital & print. •2. Create eBooks, designing eBooks, editing eBooks, building eBooks, building templates to export data for Native Applications, managing the development and construction of Native Applications, and the development and construction of other products based on that data. •3. Contractor will negotiate on behalf of the Postal Service for acquisition of a multiple use agreement for the Scott Numbering System and their values for both print and digital use. Digital Tasks: Digital Guide editions will be published for both ePub and Kindle formats. Extensive indexing should allow for simple search of content. Stamp art should view with clarity and accuracy. Digital Guide Apps should be release annually. Digital Guide Apps should be mobile and be made available for multiple platforms, Kindle, Apple and Android, phones and tablets. Digital Guide Apps should feature the ability to keep track of personal collections and values, sharing collections, and adding wish lists. The Apps should have the option to either be available for a nominal monthly subscription fee or sold outright. Print Tasks: The Postal Service Guide to US Stamps 41st Edition will flow from the digital content into a newly designed edition of the Print Guide. New design and categories can be added at USPS' discretion. Current content and format will be reviewed for optimal organization and ease of viewing. Sales, Distribution and Marketing: Contractor will distribute annuals both print and digital (Guide) with major online book retailers including but not limited to: Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and via philatelic retailers. • USPS eBooks will be distributed globally through ePubDirect, with distribution to over 1,000 retailers and over 20,000 libraries. • Native Apps for Apple and Android will be distributed through their respective App stores. • Contractor will provide annual press release material to be distributed with the unveiling of new products, ePubs and Apps. • Contractor may be required to design collateral for direct mail, or stamp show exhibitions. A detailed solicitation/Request for Proposal (RFP) will be forthcoming. In order to participate, prospective suppliers must register in the USPS eSourcing system, at the below URL. Please ensure that your firm's registration identifies NAICS Code 511199, this will be the only NAICS Code supplier group to be solicited for this opportunity. Note also that the specified NAICS Code MUST be populated in one of the first three (3) NAICS data fields in the system. NAICS Code fields 4 & 5 are not visible to USPS purchasing teams and will not result in your firm being identified as a candidate supplier for purposes of any future RFP.
