Description
Sources sought notice, including submission web site and program office points of contact This is a sources sought notice. Interested parties are encouraged to follow the official submission instructions in the attachment. TROPEC seeks to evaluate innovations with Technology Readiness Level of 5 or higher. At a minimum any technology submitted should be ready for component and/or breadboard evaluation in a relevant simulated environment. For TRL definitions, please visit http://www.acq.osd.mil/chieftechnologist/publications/docs/TRA2011.pdf and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technology_readiness_level As stated in the attachment, this call is open for one year, but the first cut off for consideration is 1 APR 2014. Intersted parties are encouraged to submit information by this first cut-off date. The official POC for this is listed in the attachments as tropec@ornl.gov or tropec@lbl.gov. You may contact the technical POC Ms Rosalie Bareng for general discussion but official submissions are per the attached guidance. This announcement exists under other sources sought notices, all which lead to the same portal submission location of http://inet.tropec.net. It is re-published here to ensure maximum vendor awareness. The Transformative Reductions in Operational Energy Consumption (TROPEC) program is a collaborative Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of Energy (DOE) program which identifies, assesses, demonstrates and helps transition innovations for energy use reduction at expeditionary base camps. The program operates with a particular emphasis on tropical environments (defined as high vegetation, high mean temperature, high average rainfall, and/or high and persistent humidity). TROPEC seeks both materiel and non-materiel solutions to reduce operational energy use. TROPEC 14.1 focus areas are in the attached. They include: Water production, end uses and gray water reclamation/reuse Efficient Electronics DC-powered shelter loads
