- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Pre-Solicitation Notice for Janitorial Services for the Cape Cod Canal, Cape Cod, MA. The purpose of this procurement is to obtain a Contractor to provide cleaning and trash removal services at multiple areas along the Cape Cod Canal in both the towns of Bourne and Sandwich The US Army Corps of Engineers, Cape Cod Canal Project is a located at the gateway to the Cape Cod region in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Project lands consist of 1,150 acres of property that are located both in the Towns of Bourne and Sandwich and divided in half by an ocean-fed canal that is connected to both Cape Cod Bay and Buzzards Bay. There are 8 recreation areas that each features a comfort station and multiple trash receptacles of different number dependent upon the recreation site. Three of the recreation areas, (Buzzards Bay, Herring Run, and Sagamore) are located on the mainland side of the Canal in the Town of Bourne and five are on the island side occupying both Bourne, (Tidal Flats and Bourne) and the Town of Sandwich, (Sandcatcher, Bulkhead and Sandwich) in the East Boat Basin area. The Cape Cod Canal Field Office is a complex located on 40 Academy Drive in Buzzards Bay, MA 02532 and The Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center is a facility located at 60 Ed Moffitt Drive, Sandwich, MA 02563. The period of performance will be approximately 01-MAR-2014 to 31-DEC-2014 with one (1) additional option year. The request for quotations will be available on or about 14 February 2014 and will be available for downloading by accessing the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov). In order to view the request for quotations, prospective contractors are required to self register their firm with Federal Business Opportunities (Go to http://www.fbo.gov and quote mark register now quote mark under Vendor/Citizens). Amendments, if any, will be available at this Internet site. Registrants are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. This procurement is set-aside for small business vendors. The applicable NAICS code is 561720 with a Small Business Size Standard of $16,500,000. The anticipated award date is 27 February 2014. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the New England District.
