- This project involves maintenance work to an existing storm water detention pond located behind the IHG Army Hotel on Fort Jackson Military Reservation near Columbia, SC. Work includes clearing, grubbing, disposal of trees, sediment removal, loose rock riprap installation and seeding with mulch application, and erosion control blanket placement. Major items of work includes an approximated:.25 acres of seeding for permanent cover; 1.2 acres of clearing and grubbing; 4,000 c.y. of sediment removal; 275 tons of loose rock riprap installation; 1500 s.y. erosion control blanket installation. The performance time is 33 calendar days (including mobilization). The estimated price range is between $30,000 and $100,000. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990. This solicitation is set aside for small businesses. The solicitation will be available for viewing and/or downloading from website, www.fedbizopps.gov, on or about February 18, 2014. Interested parties are invited to attend a pre-bid meeting and site showing on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at the Directorate of Public Works Conference Room located in Building #2562 at intersection of Essayons Way and Engineer Road on Fort Jackson. Directions to the pre-bid conference are as follows depending upon the gate of entry: Motorists driving a personal vehicle may enter through any of the open gates, provided that all personnel in the vehicle have a valid government-issued ID, (for example a drivers' license). Security personnel may scan your ID and inquire about the purpose of your visit. Individuals driving a Personal Vehicle entering Gate #2 (Forest Drive at Exit 12): After leaving the security checkpoint at Gate #2, continue on Strom Thurmond Boulevard to the 3rd traffic light (Marion Ave.). Turn right on Marion Avenue and go approximately 0.25 mile past the 2nd traffic light. Turn left onto Engineer Road and go to the stop sign at the end of the road. Building 2562 is on the right. Enter through the front door of the building and proceed down the hallway to the end. The conference room is on the left. We are asking all contractors to park in unmarked spaces in the parking lot adjacent to the building. Individuals driving Commercial or Company-owned Vehicles, will enter through Gate #4 (Percival Road); If you are entering Fort Jackson using Gate #4 (contractor entrance) at Boyden Arbor and Percival Road (Hwy.12), this entrance is accessed from Exit 15 (Percival Road West) off I-77. Follow signs to the first traffic light at highway overpass. After you have departed the security checkpoint, continue on Boyden Arbor to the stop sign. Turn right onto Dixie Road for approximately 0.8 miles. Turn left onto Hampton Parkway (divided 4 lane road) and go 0.35 mile. Turn right onto Marion Avenue, (not Kemper St.) that is a 2 lane street, at this point, that will later widen to 4 lanes. Marion Avenue travels directly in front of the Army Drill Sergeant School located on the right. Continue on Marion Avenue and go approximately 0.25 miles past the 3rd traffic light. Turn left onto Engineer Road and go to the stop sign at end of road. Building 2562 is on the right. Enter through the front door of the building and proceed down the hallway to the end. The conference room is on the left. We ask that all contractors park in unmarked spaces in the parking lot adjacent to the building. After a brief meeting concerning the bidding process and contract requirements, a sight showing will follow.
