- Description
- Leveraging Army research, the Navy intends to access the expertise of a professor at Oregon State University. This is a one-time procurement. Oregon State, as the recipient of an Army research award, has significant knowledge in the below technical area. Under FAR 6.302-1 one responsible source, the Navy intends to pursue a sole source award for expert technical engineering services based upon the substantial duplication of cost to bring other experts up to speed in a field of limited knowledge. About the work: The Navy's Environmental Sustainability Development to Integration (NESDI) 499 - Aerobic Bioaugmentation for Remediation of RDX-Contaminated Groundwater project is to demonstrate an innovative application of bioaugmentation to enhance RDX biodegradation in contaminated groundwater under aerobic conditions. The technical objective of this NESDI project is to select a suitable bioaugmentation culture and optimize conditions that will facilitate growth, RDX degrading activity, and cell transport in the soils and groundwater at the NESDI 499 project site.
