A: Please see additional pictures with rough measurements. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What is the base metal of the shafts to be repaired? A: ASTM 4140 with a Brinell Hardness Number (Bhn) of 215-255. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Are the shaft sections disassembled completely? A: Yes --------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: How badly worn are the journals? Down to the base metal? A: No Journal 1) 7.945 Journal 2) 7.984 Journal 3) 7.963 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Do you have an actual size that they are presently? Do you have pictures of the shafts in their present condition? Are the pictures included in the bid package current? A: See current and previous pictures ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: When will the shafts be available for pickup? A: Now ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Would stainless steel metalizing (EASP / electric arc spray weld) be considered for a repair option? A: Repair to stay with original build-up and finish repair as specified in the SOW. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What type of crating will the shafts arrive in and will it need to be replaced: A: Crating is not available, some cribbing (blocks) to support and aid in tying down the shafts for transport is available and the vendor can reuse the blocks when they ship them back. Reminder: the vendor is responsible for transportation from Fountain City location to vendor site and back again.
