Description
Background The Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration (ETA) administers the Job Corps program, which is a Government funded education and training program that helps young people learn a career, earn a high school diploma or GED, and find and keep a good job. For eligible young people at least 16 years of age that qualify as low income, Job Corps provides the all-around skills needed to succeed in a career and in life. Education, training, and support services are provided to students at 125 Job Corps center campuses located throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. In addition, two new centers, one in New Hampshire and the other in Wyoming, are currently under construction. Job Corps centers are operated for the U.S. Department of Labor by private companies through competitive contracting processes, and by other Federal Agencies through interagency agreements. 97of Job Corps' 125 centers (99 of 127 when including the centers in New Hampshire and Wyoming) are operated through contracts. To ensure consistency when procuring center operations services for Job Corps centers, ETA has developed a model Request for Proposal (model RFP), which is then tailored to include information pertinent to the center for which operations services are being procured. Objective The model RFP has been updated recently and ETA invites contractors and other interested parties to review the model RFP and to make written recommendations to ETA's Office of Contracts Management (OCM). Accordingly, this notice includes a link to the recently updated model RFP. Recommendations must be submitted in writing to matz.jillian@dol.gov. When submitting your recommendation, please state " Model RFP " in the subject line of your email. All comments and recommendations must be submitted not later than February 3, 2014, 6:00 p.m., eastern time. ETA looks forward to receiving your feedback and thanks you in advance for your interest, time and effort in this feedback exercise.
