- Description
- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office Of Research And Development(ORD), National Exposure Research Laboratory(NERL), located in Athens, GA has purchased a Pegasus 4D GCxGC Time of Flight Mass Spectrometer from the LECO Corporation against GSA Schedule number GS-24F-7549D, delivery order number EP-G14C-00446. One additional item critical to system functionality must be purchased to complete the system. This item is not available on the LECO Corporation?s GSA schedule and will be added by modification. The item is One (1) each Gerstel Multi-Purpose Sampler(MPS2) shich uses Maestro Software with Agilent 7890/6890 mounting kit. The GC portion of the TOFMS is an Agilent component and the mounting kit is made specifically for this instrument. Maestro software allows full integration of all aspects of sampler method and is integrated into LECO control software. Maestro provides Prep functions such as dilution, internal standard addition, derivitization, etc., prior to injection. Maestro allows Prep Ahead of headspace and Solid Phase Micro Extraction(SPME) vials. The system takes into account incubation, extraction, desorption, and GC runtimes, and calculates the most effective means to move samples in and out of the six positions in the incubator. Maestro software functions do not require macro writing or programming. All method choices are selectable in a graphical user interface. Maestro provides injection counters and reminders for maintenance items. Maestro provides email alerts if there is a problem with the system. Upgradeable to Dynamic Headspace, Thermal desorption, Twister, and ALEX (Automated Liner Exchange) SPME is completely automated, with programmable temperatures, stirring speeds, as well as incubation, extraction, and desorption times. SPME mode allows the use of on-fiber derivitization with the simple selection of a check box. SPME incubator is selectable between agitation or stirring - you deci de which works best with your samples. SPME mode ? capable of incubating and sampling from 2ml, 5ml, 10ml, 20ml 40mL and 100mL vials. Capable of holding up to 96 20mL vials. Headspace is aspirated and injected with a heated, gas-tight syringe. No valves, loops, or transfer lines. Headspace mode ? capable of incubating and sampling from 2ml, 5ml, 10ml, 20ml, 40mL and 100mL vials. Liquid mode - capable of sampling from 2ml, 5ml, 10ml, 20ml, and 96 well plates Capable of Large Volume Liquid Injection (LVI) when coupled with CIS4. EPA intends to modify the delivery order to procure these additional parts. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 334516. The size standard for this code is 500 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT is not a request for competitive proposals. No Solicitation document is available. The anticipated date for modification is February 14, 2014.
