- Questions and Answers Question 1:The description in the quote says- "Process controller logic programming for boilers 1, 2, and 3, and calibration of boiler 3 instrumentation in accordance with the attached Statement of Work." I would read this that only number 3 controls get calibrated and some logic gets changed around in all three boilers. The spec seems to indicate all boilers and plant instrumentation will be calibrated and documented. All safeties will be checked and documented. All boilers will be tuned from the bottom up on both fuels. Which one do they want because they don't read the same? Answer:You are correct that only #3 boiler is to be tuned and calibrated. You are also correct in the assumption that the control logic is the only changes to the other two boilers. When you read the details, the tuning and calibration is specific to #3 boiler not to the other boilers. Question 2:What controls are currently in place? Answer:The current system utilizes Moore 353 controllers. At present, there are no plans to upgrade. Question 3:On the pressure switches the spec does not clarify if we are just tripping the device or if the switch is to be calibrated and set. Answer:The pressure devices are only to be tripped rather than calibrated and set. 1.
