Description
This is a modification to the solicitation entitled 3.5" Swivel Eye Brackets which was posted on 01/14/2014. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. Modification 01 is to post the below technical question and answer: Question: In the document titled Specification for NASA 3.5 Swivel Eye Bracket, notes 8 through 10 describe testing that will be performed on the required items prior to acceptance. In prior events when the part has been manufactured 100% IAW DWG 90M11268, have there been failures when the product was 100% machined from the billet? Do you anticipate failure of any items, if all specs are adhered to correctly? Additionally, if there were a product failure, would the Govt withhold payment until all deliverables were tested and accepted? Answer: The drawing does not require load testing when parts are machined from a solid billet, only when fabricated from welded plate. However, the procurement specification does still require proof test for all swivel eye brackets, including those made from solid billet. Failure could still occur if sub-standard steel is used or if there are any problems during the heat treat process. The due date for responses is not extended. Documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
