SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE: DRY DOCK REPAIRS USCGC MACKINAW (WLBB 30) This SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE is for market research purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal/Quotation; and, it is not considered to be a commitment by the Government to award a contract nor will the Government pay for any information provided; no basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result from a response to this Sources Sought Notice or Government use of any information provided. Pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research), the purpose of this notice is to: (1) Determine if sources capable of satisfying the agency's requirements exists. (2) Determine if commercial items suitable to meet the agency's needs are available or could be modified to meet the agency's requirements. (3) Determine the commercial practices of company's engaged in providing the needed service or supply. Pursuant to FAR Part 6 and FAR Part 19, competition and set-aside decisions may be based on the results of this market research. This notice in no way obligates the Government to any further action. REQUIREMENT: This notice is issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Force Logistics Center, Norfolk, VA to identify sources capable of providing the following: Contractor shall provide all necessary facilities, materials, equipment, and personnel to DRYDOCK repairs to the USCGC MACKINAW (WLBB 30). The vessel is home ported in Cheboygan, MI. All work will be performed at the contractor's facility. GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTION: Great Lakes. SCOPE OF WORK: The scope of the acquisition is for the DRYDOCK repairs of the USCGC MACKINAW. This work will include, but is not limited to the following work items: Hull Plating (U/W Body), Ultrasonic Testing Appendages (U/W) - Internal, Preserve Propellers, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Box Coolers, Clean, Inspect, and Test Vent Ducts (Galley and Pantry Room All), Commercial Cleaning Compressed Air Receivers, Clean, Inspect, and Test Galley APC System, Test, Service, Renew Fuse-Able Link Bow Thruster Unit, Inspect Bow Thruster Unit AC Motor, Clean and Inspect Anchor Chain(s) and Ground Tackle, Inspect and Repair Hawse Pipes, Preserve Sewage Vacuum Pumps, Overhaul Grey Water Holding Tanks, Clean and Inspect Sewage Holding Tanks, Clean and Inspect U/W Body, Preserve Impressed Current Cathodic Protection System Reference Cells, Renew Sea Trial Performance, Provide Support Deck Covering (Electrical Matting), Renew Deck Covering (Interior Wet/Dry), Renew Compartment Insulation Line Locker, Renew Hull Plating (U/W Body), Inspect Chain Lockers, Clean and Inspect Tanks (MP Fuel Stowage and Overflow), Clean and Inspect Tanks (MP Fuel Service), Clean and Inspect Fixed CO2 Fire Extinguishing System Cylinders, Inspect and Hydrostatic Test Sewage Transfer Pumps, Overhaul Decks - Exterior (Buoy or Construction Deck), Preserve 100% Temporary Services, Provide (For Azipod Tech Rep) Forward Scan Sonar Transducer, General Maintenance, Perform Sea Strainers - Duplex (All Sizes), Overhaul Potable Water Pneumatic Tanks, Clean and Inspect Sea Valves and Waster Pieces, Overhaul or Renew Sea Chest Grate Bolt, Renewal Hull Plating, Renew Relief Valves, Inspect and Test Compartment Insulation Buoy Control Booth, Renew Radio Room Supply Vent, Repair Appendages (U/W), Leak Test Azipod Propulsion System Planned Drydock Maintenance, Support Propeller, Repair Fathometer Transducer, General Maintenance Underwater Hull Light Fixtures, Renew Routine Drydock Temporary Services All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. Anticipated Period of Performance: The period of performance is anticipated to from 16 July 2014 to 08 Oct 2014 (Subject to change at the discretion of the Government). This solicitation is Subject to Availability of Funds. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard.
