Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA North Texas Health Care System, Dallas, TX, Network Contracting Office 17, hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source procurement to AGFA Healthcare Corporation, 10 South Academy Street, Greenville, SC for emergency and preventative maintenance for the AGFA picture archiving communications system software and equipment. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 USC 253(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The contractor will provide remote and onsite emergency and preventative maintenance repair services providing all required parts, tools, materials, labor, test equipment, transportation and supervision. No other company is expected to respond to this requirement as the software, parts and specialized training is proprietary to AGFA. The period of performance shall be from February 1, 2014 thru September 30, 2014. This notice of intent is not a request for proposal or quote. No solicitation package is available; however, any qualified vendor that determines it can meet the government's requirements may give written notification through e-mail to the Contracting Officer, Lynn.Pettit@va.gov no later than January 15, 2014, 12PM CST. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
