Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS for market research purposes. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL BE USED FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) is seeking vendors, other than the equipment manufacturer, who can provide a service agreement for the service and maintenance of a JEM-3010 Transmission Electron Microscope, JSM-7100 Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope, JSM-6400 Scanning Electron Microscope, and their associated components. All equipment is manufactured by JEOL USA, Inc. The service agreement must ensure uninterrupted performance within manufacturers' specifications on a scheduled and as-needed basis. The equipment is owned by the NIST/Materials Science and Engineering Division (MSED) and is housed at the NIST campus in Gaithersburg, MD. The MSED of NIST has the mission of promoting U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness in the development and use of materials by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology. Service and maintenance shall include unlimited emergency visits during regular business hours, and scheduled preventive maintenance visits. Covered expenses shall include all parts, labor, travel, and per diem. Vendors must have access to proprietary knowledge of the equipment, including but not limited to: schematics, hardware, software, and access to parts for the equipment. The following components shall be covered by the agreement: 1. Qty 1 each JEOL JEM-3010 Transmission Electron Microscope including: a. Qty 1 each EM-FLC40 free lens control unit b. Qty 1 each EM-34010 scanning image observation c. Qty 1 each EM-34070 back-scattered unit d. Qty 1 each Side-entry goniometer (SEG) for 2010, 3010, 1210 e. Qty 1 each Haskris R175 water re-circulator, water-cooled. 2. Qty 1 each JEOL JSM-7100 Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope including: a. Qty 1 each 5-axis stage b. Qty 1 each Low vacuum operation c. Qty 1 each Through-lens digital scan system d. Qty 1 each Probe current unit e. Qty 1 each Absorbed current meter f. Qty 1 each Infrared chamberscope g. Qty 2 each Scroll Pumps h. Qty 1 each Haskris R033 water re-circulator i. Qty 1 each Water-cooled j. Qty 1 each Battery backup k. Qty 1 each 10 kVA UPS. 3. Qty 1 each JEOL JSM-6400 Scanning Electron Microscope a. Qty 1 each SM-40060 LAB6 Cathode Electron Gun b. Qty 1 each Haskris R075 water re-circulator, air-cooled. Vendors must provide detailed information on their experience and expertise with respect to the requirement above, information which documents proprietary knowledge and access to parts, and any other information considered pertinent to the requirement above to Adam C. Information submitted must be specific and address each of the above points. Submissions must be received by 12:00 p.m. local time on January 13, 2014. Original and e-mail submissions are acceptable. Vendors shall identify their business size in accordance with North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 811219 - Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance; the Small Business Size Standard is $19.0 Million.
