- SCOPE OF WORK 1.PROJECT DATA: TITLE: Bay Pines VA Healthcare Center I CARE Exhibit BUILDING/FACILITY: Building 100 Main Hospital, Bay Pines VA Healthcare Center, Bay Pines, FL Scope of Work Provide fabrication, delivery, and installation of the I CARE interpretive exhibit. This is a multi-layer, dimensional exhibit intended to provide an engaging, visually attractive exhibit. Vendor will provide shop drawings showing the materials to be used, each layer of the exhibit, and the LED lighting. Printed Surfaces Only fire retardant materials are permitted to be used. All wood shall be formaldehyde-free. Polycarbonate panels will be used for the light boxes. Only UV inks that are ultraviolet cured may be used. All opaque panels printed first or second surface must be printed using a three layer color /white/color process to ensure superior image quality. Graphics Package The custom graphics design package is to be submitted to the Interior Designer (COR). Vendor is responsible for the output of the graphics and will provide at least three 12" x 12" full color samples for approval. Sizes & Specifications See diagram below: A.Metal Backer Panel 6' tall x 15' wide x ¾" thick wood fire retardant backer board sheathed with Chemetal laminate. Mounted to existing wall with heavy duty Z clips. Use FRT wood blocking to level any uneven wall conditions. B. White Introduction Backer Panel 4'-6-3/8" tall x 4'-10-1/2" wide x ¾" thick Sintra Panel with custom printed graphics. Mounted to backer board using FRT wood spacers that are hidden behind ¾" thick Sintra side panels. C.Arched Star Graphic Panel 1'-3" tall x 2'-11-3/4" wide by ½" thick Sintra Panel with custom printed graphics and routing. Outside perimeter to be routed per Adobe Illustrator file provided by Contractor. All edges to be sanded and hand painted to match brass color in logo. Surface mounted to introduction panel. D.I CARE Logo Light Box 1'-6-9/16" tall x 3'-9-3/16" wide x 3/8" thick polycarbonate panel that is backlit with LEDs. Polycarbonate panel has custom routing and first surface printed graphics. Outside perimeter to be routed per Adobe Illustrator file provided by Contractor. Polycarbonate panel to be held in place by custom fabricated light box that holds LEDs and wiring. LED transformer to be hidden in white introduction backer element below. Lighting shall illuminate the I CARE logo and spill out above to light wash the stars in arched star graphic and below to light wash the polycarbonate introduction panel. E.Introduction Panel 1'-3" tall x 4'-8" wide x 3/8" thick Polycarbonate panel with custom printed graphics. Graphics to be printed second surface. Mounted to introduction backer with 3/8" diameter stand-offs in brass finish. F. Core Values Descriptions 1'-8-3/8" tall x 5'-9" wide x ½" thick Sintra Panel with custom printed graphics. Mounted to backer board and white introduction backer. All side returns to be ¾" Sintra. G. Core Values Headline 4" tall x 1'-6" wide x 3/8" thick Polycarbonate panel with custom printed graphics. Graphics to be printed second surface. Mounted to core values descriptions panel with 3/8" diameter stand-offs in brass finish. H. Light Blue Solid Panel 5'-4-5/8" tall x 1'-6-1/2" wide x ½" thick Sintra Panel with custom printed color. Mounted to Dark Blue Backer Panel. All side returns to be ¾" Sintra. I. Dark Blue Backer Panel 4'-2-3/8" tall x 7'-5-3/8" wide x ½" thick Sintra Panel with custom printed graphics. Mounted to metal backer board. All side returns to be ¾" Sintra. J. Frost Stars Light Box 1'-7-3/4" tall x 3'-9-3/8" wide x 3/8" thick polycarbonate panel that is backlit with LEDs. Polycarbonate panel has custom surface routing and first surface printed graphics. Polycarbonate panel to be held in place by custom fabricated light box that holds LEDs and wiring. LED transformer to be hidden in Dark Blue Backer element below. K. Because I Care I Will Panel 2'-6-5/8" tall x 6'-6-13/16" wide x ½" thick Sintra Panel with custom printed graphics. Mounted to Dark Blue Backer Panel below. All side returns to be ¾" Sintra. L. Statue of Liberty Panel 3'-4-13/16" tall x 1'-7-13/16" wide x ½" thick Sintra Panel with custom printed graphics. Mounted to Dark Blue Backer Panel and metal backer panel below. All side returns to be ¾" Sintra. M. Core Characteristics Reader Rail 1' tall x 8'-3/4" wide x 3/8" thick polycarbonate panel that is backlit with LEDs. Polycarbonate panel has custom routing and first surface printed graphics. Polycarbonate panel to be held in place by custom fabricated light box that holds LEDs and wiring. LED transformer to be hidden in Dark Blue Backer Panel Below. Light box to be mounted to Metal Backer Board using custom metal angle brackets. Brackets to angle reader rail so it adheres to the ADA museum guidelines. *Electrical outlets cannot be permanently covered per code, provide access panel to any outlets covered by this installation **Provide access panels to any lighting transformers within the exhibit Past Experience Examples Contractor must have 20 year experience in designing, producing, fabricating, and installing commercial (museum) display installations as described in this scope. Contractor to provide at least 10 different full color examples of healthcare related past experience work by their firm demonstrating their ability to perform this scope of work. Completion Date The I CARE exhibit completion date is six weeks after the date of the award unless extended in writing. 2.GENERAL SCOPE: A.Furnish all labor, materials, and supervision to perform work to facilitate the construction and building of the I CARE Wall in Building 100 where identified. B.The Contractor's business and fabrication facility should be A.IA and A.W.I. award certified. The I CARE Wall Exhibit is designed to be a traveling exhibit which may be moved from location to location within the facility and our community based outpatient clinics. The winning contractor will be contacted in an event that the exhibit needs to be moved to another location. The winning contractor would have five business days to relocate the exhibit from the day the Interior Designer (COR) requests the move. Please provide a separate line item on the quote for the cost to move the exhibit. This will be paid for on an as needed basis via a purchase card. The cost will not be included in the purchase order that's established for the fabrication and installation of the display. C.Winning contractor to provide up to and not to exceed twelve design submittals until final approval by Interior Designer (COR). 3.DETAILED REQUIREMENTS: A. Contractor preparing space for I CARE Wall will be required to work closely to establish a work schedule with the interior design department and engineering staff to ensure smooth transitioning between phases. B.The PA/CO shall contact interested contractors to schedule a single/group site visit which will be coordinated with the Interior Designer (COR) to tour, measure and inspect the site. All vendors must attend site visit to measure prior to providing an estimate and supply shop drawings with their estimate detailing location of material and finishes and installation specifications that includes all custom material, finishes, and parts for points of attachment. Along with this samples of all finishes and materials must be submitted for approval. This will guarantee that the facility can take into consideration any items that will impede the installation. C.All material provided and installed by the Contractor is to meet Flame Spread and Smoke Density code requirements for commercial buildings. D.Contractor to coordinate with VA interior design department and electrical shop on all electrical need for install and fabrication of the I CARE Wall. E.Contractor shall clean up any debris caused from the installation and remove it from the Bay Pines VA Healthcare Center property. F.Contractor shall adhere to all rules of travel and parking when entering and leaving Bay Pines VA Healthcare Center property. G.Contractor shall comply with all Safety and Infection Control procedures in accordance with VA policies and directives. H.Smoking is not permitted in any indoor areas and only in designated areas outside of the building. I.Contractor is to provide all equipment, tools for removing, installing, cleaning, unpacking, transporting as detailed in scope of project. J.Contractor to secure all tools, materials, remove trash and leave areas clean at the end of each work day. K.Contractor to notify COR of work schedule and have prior approval before working on site. L.Music playing is not allowed while working inside facility. M.All work to be performed during normal business hours Monday - Friday. Some installation could take place after hours and on weekends, if approved by the facility and COR. End
