- This is a Sources Sought Notice and this notice being issued for market research purposes only. This notice is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) and a solicitation is not being issued at this time. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition methodology. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. Responses to the information requested may assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition methodology. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (NCO 12), Department of Veterans Affairs, is seeking information from sources capable of providing a wayfinding system for patients and visitors of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, 5000 W. National Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53295. The Government requests that interested parties submit a brief overview of their firm's capabilities, submit a statement of capability outlining their firm's capabilities related to this requirements stated below, and past experience with projects similar in scope to this project. All information shall be submitted in MS Word or Adobe PDF format and shall not exceed 20 pages, including all attachments. Each party's submission shall also include the following information: DUNS Number Organization Name Organization Address Point-of-Contact (including name, title, address, telephone number, and email address) Business Size (i.e. annual revenues and employee size Socio-Economic Status (i.e.. small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, etc.) NAICS Code Responses shall be submitted via email to chad.turner@va.gov no later than 11:59 PM CST on January 3, 2014. When responding please include RFI number VA69D-14-I-0330 in the subject line. Requirements Wayfinding system for hospital which has the following capabilities/functions: 1.Five content managers with player hardware with the following minimum specifications: a.Intel Core i3 processor or equal b.Minimum 80 GB mSATA SSD c.Minimum 4GB memory d.WES-7 Swap-it Warranty??? 2.Three LCS Displays with the following specifications a.55" LCD capable of 1920 x 1080 (full-high definition) b.AV function??? c.Professional grade with 24/7 operation??? 3.Two LCD-LED displays with 3M DST Touch (or equivalent) and USB controller 4.Two Zebra (or equivalent) printers 5.User is able to choose their destination of choice and shortest path directions will be illustrated on a map from current location. Destinations include but are not limited to clinic and staff room numbers, amenities such as a cafeterias or chapels, and events). 6.User is able to print step by step directions at display, use QR code to display directions on their smartphone, or view software on other platforms such as desktop media players. 7.The monitor is user friendly through touchscreen (dynamic) interfaces. 8.Contractor will work with VA staff to develop and interactive and non-interactive layout. a.Interactive layout must support drag and drop content management ability 9.Contractor shall work with VA staff to create custom designed templates with input based on past experience on which option (play content, show list with pop-up effect, restart, keyboard as a region on the template is selected) serves user functionality best??? 10.Contractor must connect the maps with appropriate egress points so that users may view full paths from one building to another or one floor to another. 11.Contractor shall assist with defining zones, creating paths, path-finding points, breadcrumbs, and QR tags on the maps for efficient wayfinding. 12.Administrator interface must be intuitive and allow VA staff to fully edit content without vendor involvement after initial setup. 13.Wayfinding software must support the following formats: a.Video file formats:.avi,.mov,.wmv. mpeg2,.mpeg4 b.Image file formats:.bmp,.png,.jpeg,.gif c.Macromedia/Adobe Flash d.Adobe PDF e.Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 14.Wayfinding software must be able to display: a.Streaming video b.External video and/or cable TV (with TV tuner card) c.Date and Time d.Text e.Web content f.Weather (to include current day up to 3 additional days) g.Scrolling RSS feeds h.XML formatted data i.Real-time direct SQL queries from a database with security validation 15.Software must be able to organize content in user defined categories 16.Software must be able to define user and security groups or inherit active directly roles to manage content DISCLAIMER This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.
