- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Minimal Essential Characteristics [MEC's] for Laser-Doppler Vibrometer for Hearing Measurements The US Army requires a laser-Doppler Vibrometer to conduct its FY14-16 quote mark Assessment of the Middle-ear quote mark. This equipment must be safe for use with human volunteers. It will be used to examine the response of the middle ear musculature (affecting the tympanic membrane) to acoustic impulses. Manufacturer: Polytec quote mark Laser-Doppler Vibrometer for Hearing Measurements quote mark ; brand name or equal. Numbers in parentheses refer to Polytec part numbers.) The Laser-Doppler Vibrometer for Hearing Measurements must have the following characteristics: 1) Must be compatible with SONY PMW-10MD Full HD Medical Grade Camera System (Customer supplied). This will be a stand-alone camera for displaying the image of the microscope to an audience and acquiring very high resolution images while performing HLV measurements. Camera interacts with the HLV hardware through a microscope port but not with the HLV software. 2) Must be fully compatible with Carl Zeiss OPMI 1-FC ENT Microscope (Customer supplied), 3) Laser-Doppler Vibrometer for Hearing Measurements (OFV-5534-17) a) High Performance Modular Controller (OFV-5000) i) For operation with standard or fiber-optic laser sensor heads.
