- NSN: 5955-01-028-7144 OSCILLATOR, CRYSTAL CONTROLLED SOLID STATE MERCURY OR MERCURY CONTAINING COMPOUNDS SHALL NOT BE INTENTIONALLY ADDED TO,OR COME IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH,ANY HARDWARE OR SUPPLIES FURNISHED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. EXCEPTION: FUNCTIONAL MERCURY USED IN BATTERIES, FLUORESCENT LIGHTS, REQUIRED INSTRUMENTS; SENSORS OR CONTROLS; WEAPON SYSTEMS; AND CHEMICAL ANALYSIS REAGENTS SPECIFIED BY NAVSEA. PORTABLE FLUORESCENT LAMPS AND PORTABLE INSTRUMENTS CONTAINING MERCURY SHALL BE SHOCK PROOF AND CONTAIN A SECOND BOUNDARY OF CONTAINMENT OF THE MERCURY OR MERCURY COMPOUND. (IAW NAVSEA 5100-003D). SOURCE CONTROLLED DRAWING APPLIES OFFERORS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN QUALIFYING THEIR PRODUCT FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUTURE ACQUISITIONS MUST CONTACT THE COGNIZANT DESIGN ACTIVITY SPECIFIED IN FAR CLAUSE 52.209-1. AWARD OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE HELD UP PENDING QUALIFICATION AND APPROVAL OF ANY PRODUCT. IF OFFERORS PRODUCT HAS BEEN RECENTLY APPROVED BUT NOT ADDED TO THE LIST OF APPROVED SOURCES CITED ON THE SOURCE CONTROLLED DRAWING, A COPY OF THE COGNIZANT DESIGN ACTIVITY#S LETTER OF APPROVAL MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH THE OFFER. IF THE APPLICABLE (OEM OR MILITARY) DRAWING, SPECIFICATION, STANDARD, OR QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISION (QAP) SPECIFIES AN ACCEPTABLE QUALITY LEVEL (AQL), THE SAMPLING ACCEPTANCE NUMBER SHALL BE REDUCED TO ZERO (0). FOR EXAMPLE, IF THE ACCEPT REJECT CRITERIA IS ACCEPT ON (3) DEFECTS AND REJECT ON (4) DEFECTS, THE NEW ACCEPT REJECT CRITERIA IS ACCEPT ON (0) DEFECTS AND REJECT THE ENTIRE LOT ON (1) DEFECT. EVEN THOUGH THE ACCEPTANCE LEVEL IS ELIMINATED, THE SAMPLE SIZE REMAINS THE SAME. DRAWING INDICATES ITEM IS CLASSIFIED AS AN ELECTROSTATIC/ELECTROMAGNETIC SENSITIVE DEVICE. >>PRECAUTIONARY PACKAGING, HANDLING, AND PROCESSING PROCEDURES SHALL BE USED TO PREVENT DAMAGE FROM ELECTROSTATIC/ELECTROMAGNETIC AND OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL FIELD FORCES.<< --------------------------------------------- ALL ITEMS AND PACKAGES SHALL BE HANDLED AND OPENED AT AN APPROVED ESD WORKSTATION -OR- FIELD SERVICE KIT. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, CONSULT MIL-HDBK-773. CRYSTAL BARE ITEM MARKINGS MAY BE EITHER IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-C-3098G, AS AMENDED, OR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INDIVIDUAL SPECIFICATION SHEET. PRESERVATION AND PACKAGING SHALL BE IAW THE LATEST REVISION OF MILITARY SPECIFICATION: MIL-E-17555, FOR ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT. WHEN ZZ IS THE METHOD OF PRESERVATION, USE LEVEL "A" PRESERVATION AS CITED IN THE COMMODITY SPECIFICATION. SOURCE CONTROL DRAWING This item requires DOD QUALIFIED Electro-static Discharge (ESD) protective packaging materials in accordance with MIL-PRF-81705. The supplier shall be responsible for verifying that all MIL-PRF-81705 barrier materials (or converted bags) were supplied from a qualified manufacturer currently listed on QPL-81705. DBA 18853 P/N EROS-750-EC-79 IAW BASIC DRAWING NR 00724 73-00045 REVISION NR R DTD 01/14/1992 PART PIECE NUMBER: 73-00045-001 SHALL BE PACKAGED STANDARD COMMERCIAL IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM D 3951. Markings Paragraph When ASTM D3951, Commercial Packaging is specified, the following apply: •,,All containers shall meet ASTM D4169, Standard Practice for Performance Testing of Shipping Containers and Systems. •,,All Section D Packaging Clauses take precedence over ASTM D3951. •,,In addition to requirements in MIL-STD-129P, all Labeling and Marking shall have a Method of Preservation of Commercial Pack applied to the MIL-STD-129 identification labels on all shipping containers, including the unit and intermediate levels. The Method of Preservation (M) of Commercial Pack (CP) shall be applied to all labels and marking as "MCP." •,,For all shipments of packaged materiel to the Government, which includes either Depot (DLA-Direct) or DVD (Customer-Direct) shipments, both DoD linear and two-dimensional (2D) bar code markings are required in accordance with MIL-STD-129. See DLAD 52.211-9010 for exceptions to the Military Shipment Label (MSL) requirement. When the MSL is required, the Transportation Control Number (TCN) is not an exception and must always be present. TCN construction is detailed in DTR 4500.9-R (Appendix L). •,,The Unit of Issue (U/I) and Quantity per Unit Pack (QUP) as specified in the contract take precedence over ASTM D3951. •,,Loose-fill cushioning and dunnage materials are prohibited in all shipments to DOD customers. •,,Unitization in accordance with MIL-STD-147, Palletized Unit Loads, is required for all shipments to the DOD activities.
