THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. In preparation for a future procurement, the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas is performing market research to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (service disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, hub zone, 8(a), small disadvantage business, woman-owned, small business, or large business) relative to NAICS 811219 that can offer the services listed below: STATEMENT OF WORK Transaction Number: 580-14-1-255-0232 1.EQUIPMENT IDENTIFICATION: ENTRY #MANUFACTURERMODELSERIAL #LOCATION BECKMANL8-80 ULTRACENTRIFUGE8L122 2. SERVICE/ EQUIPMENT The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, in Houston Texas is seeking a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, transportation, tools and supervision to provide preventative maintenance and full corrective service of government owned equipment, Beckman Coulter Ultracentrifuge, Serial Model #L8-80, located at MED VAMC, 2002 Holcombe Blvd. Houston Texas 77030-4298, for the period of January 1, 2014 through September 30, 2018 (includes base year and four (4) option years). Equipment shall be in good operating condition upon the effective date of this contract. Equipment to be serviced/maintained is located in building 109, room 111. A complete inspection and checkout shall be done within 60 days of contract start date for listed equipment to verify proper operation and to do necessary servicing to maximize performance of the system. An inspection of all major system components shall be done approximately six months after the annual inspection to assure proper operation of the system. Calibrations, adjustments, cleaning and applicable pm services shall be done on selective components. Inspections shall be scheduled at least three days in advance with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). Service shall include all necessary intervening service calls needed due to equipment failure. Interested companies should submit an electronic statement/attachment outlining their company's capability and capacity to provide the services requested. Also, firms should provide their business size status in accordance with the small business administration website (www.sba.gov) for the above referenced NAICS code they fall within (i.e. small businesses, 8(a) firms, HUB Zones, small disabled veteran owned businesses, etc.) This Sources sought is for informational purposes only and all businesses able to provide this equipment are encouraged to submit information regardless of Business size. Please send responses to: james.craig7@va.gov. No Later Than Friday December 20, 2013 by 1:00pm Eastern Standard Time. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to any future solicitation announcements.
