- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a firm fixed price sole source task order to procure retrofit kits required under ECP 6227C2 - 'Inlet Nacelle Bleed Plate Crack.' The intent is for the subject ECP to be incorporated into the F/A 18E/F and E/A 18G aircraft under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-11-G-0001. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, 'Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisy agency requrements.' Boeing is the designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft in its various configurations; and as such, is the only known firm with the knowledge, experience, and technical expertise required to accomplish this effort.
