- Description
- The Navy has a requirement to replace an existing telemetry capability which is approaching the end of its useful life. As a result, the Naval Air Systems Command intends to conduct a full and open competition to award an aircraft integration contract for the procurement of a Gulfstream G550 aircraft with the Conformal Airborne Early Warning (CAEW) structural modifications, including the integration of specific mission systems and an option for the integration of an advanced airborne telemetry instrumentation system. The delivery of the Gulfstream G550 CAEW configured with specific mission equipment is required by 2nd quarter FY17. The advanced airborne telemetry instrumentation system will be procured separately and provided as Government Furnished Equipment for integration in 4th quarter FY17. At the time of delivery, the aircraft, with the CAEW structural modifications, integration of specific mission systems and, if the option is exercised, the integration of an advanced airborne telemetry instrumentation system, must have a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Type Certificate and Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs). The proposed action is for a commercial derivative aircraft (and the integration of specific mission systems) for which the Government intends to solicit and procure under the authority of FAR 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested offerors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement within fifteen (15) days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Award will be conducted under the provisions of FAR Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation Procedures. The prospective contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). In the future, a solicitation will be posted to FBO website. It is the responsibility of prospective offerors to monitor the website for the release of solicitation, amendments (if any) or other information pertaining to this synopsis. This action is related to the Request for Information (N00019-2013-RFI-RSA) posted to FBO.gov in 5 March of 2013.
