- Building 13 Scope of Work This scope of work is based on locating the new pole and cabinet at a point to enable the utilization of the existing telephone, fiber optic and CCTV cabling. The local cable TV provider will have to be contacted by the Grafton Job Corp to relocate the incoming coaxial cable to the new cabinet location. Electrical Scope of Work: PHASE I - Site & Prep Work Remove "dead" and cables not in use. Locate (2) 4"PVC underground conduits @ Administration Bldg #17 Establish cabinet and Pole location Install & set new wooden utility pole. Install aerial cable from existing pole across parking lot to new pole. Relocate existing cables into (1) 4"PVC Conduit, disconnect existing cabling from (1) 4"PVC (Large Coax&200-Pair OR 48-Strand Fiber/2-small coax/4-strand fiber) and remove. Combine all communications cabling into (1) existing 4"PVC and re-terminate as required. Install pre-cast foundation or pour slab for cabinet. Ground Pad & Cabinet Furnish and install (2) 4"PVC conduits from new pole/cabinet location to location where the existing (2) 4"PVC conduits enter Building #17. Furnish and install 36"x24"x24" hand-hole at Building #17. Furnish and install Cabinet Prep Cabinet with patch-panels, punch down blocks, coax splice kits for existing Install lighting protector kits / surge suppression, etc. PHASE II - Phone Service Relocation Building #13 to Building #17 Building #13 / Cabinet Work Disconnect and remove Incoming 200-pair Phone cable from Bldg #13 punch down block to pole. Remove cable from building and install on new pole and into Cabinet. Disconnect 200-pair phone cable from Bldg #13 punch down block to Bldg #17 Remove existing punch down blocks and associated components (grounds etc.) and install to Cabinet. Terminate Incoming 200-pair on punch-down blocks and ground. Building #17 Work Remove 200-pair phone cable from existing conduit in Bldg #17. Intercept existing empty 4"PVC, install hand-hole and complete installation of new 4"PVC to cabinet. Install 200-pair cable from Bldg #17 to cabinet. Terminate Incoming 200-pair on punch-down blocks, test and ground. PHASE III - 48-Strand Fiber Service Relocation Building #13 to Building #17 The large orange 48-Strand Fiber Optic cable does not terminate in Building #13, it's a direct pass through the Tel-Com closet in Bldg #13, into the existing 4" conduit system and into Bldg #17 Tel/Com closet. 200-pair phone line terminates in Building #13 Tel-Comm closet on punch-down blocks and continues to existing 4" conduit system and into Bldg #17 Tel-Comm closet. Building #13 / Cabinet Work / Building #17 Disconnect & Remove 48-strand fiber from Building #17, protect ends. Remove CCTV and miscellaneous cables from existing PVC to Bldg #17. Remove 48-strand fiber through and out Building #13 to Pole. Remove fiber from building pole and install on new pole and into Cabinet. Disconnect and remove large Cable TV Coax from Building #13 Splice point through existing conduit to Bldg. #17 Tel-Com closet. Intercept existing empty 4"PVC, install hand-hole and complete installation of new 4"PVC to cabinet. PHASE IV - Cable TV Coax Cable Relocation Building #13 to Building #17 Cable TV Coax cable enters Building #13 from pole further up the sidewalk and runs through basement to a Antec Splice Box in Bldg #13 Tel-Comm closet. Cable has been remove from U/G conduit and is coiled in Bldg #17 Tel-Comm closet. Building #13 / Cabinet Work / Building #17 Remove Antec Splice Box from Building #13 and install in Cabinet. Install large Cable TV Coax through new 4"PVC from Building #17 and splice point. Coordinate Cable Company to re-route incoming cable service from Bldg #13 to new de-mark location in Cabinet. PHASE V - Disconnect Power from Building #13 - Demo U/G Conduits Cut/Cap and make-safe Abandon existing (2) 4" PVC underground conduits, cap and mark ends with small handholes. Clarifications - Exclusions: Contractor will provide all required equipment for excavation and backfill, concrete pad work and pole setting Contractor will assist the Owner with the coordination and scheduling of the work associated with the Cable TV Service Provider. Any upgrade, service change changes by the cable provider are not included. Re-seeding grass area between Building #13 and Building #17 is not included All work shall be performed between Monday and Friday, between 7:00AM and 5:00PM. Premium Time work is not included; work will be coordinated to minimize "down-time" as much as possible. Wiring permit cost is not included Bacon-Davis Wage Rates included. Identify and label existing cables - determine "active", "dead" and cables "not in use" and identify. There will be a Pre-Bid meeting on December 17, 2013 at 9AM and attendance is mandatory in order to submit a bid.
