- This document supersedes solicitation FA8532-13-R-31349 posted 8 July 2013 in its entirety. This item is a laser inspection system machine which employs a proprietary laser system to electronically read and record measurements of engine compressor rotor blade tips, lands and seals for clearance calculations. Rotor system measurements are taken for each blade and the average and maximum is obtained. Spacer land to stator vane tip clearances are calculated by measuring the radial distance from a predetermined gauging radius established by a multi-stage set master. The results of the spacer measurements will be the radial distance from this point. This information is used to perform repairs that will provide the proper clearances with the engine case in a time effective manner. The overall dimensions of the unit are 120 inches in length, 50 inches in width, and 76 inches in height. Weight is 1 ton. Line item 0001 is for a quantity of 1 each to be installed at Holloman AFB, NM. Line item 0002 is for travel and line item 0003 is for installation and training. Installation is required 180 calendar days ARO. Line item 1001 is for a quantity of 1 each to be installed at Columbus AFB, MS. Line item 1002 is for travel and line item 1003 is for installation and training. Installation is required 180 calendar days ARO exercise of option. This is a sole source acquisition in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Award will be made to B & F Design Incorporated, 187 Stamm Road, Newington, CT 06111 or Rhinestahl Corporation, 7637 Innovation Way, Mason, OH 45040. B &F retains proprietary rights to the data for these items. NO TECHNICAL DATA IS AVAILABLE. The anticipated solicitation release will be on or around 2 Dec 2013, with quotes due on or before 2 Jan 2014.
