See attached for complete item purchase description Award will be based on (1) Price, (2) Shipment Days (1)Price will be evaluated first and is most important. (2)Shipment is requested in 30 Days After Receipt of Order (DARO). Shipment is the second most important factor. In the case that one or more vendors are equal in price, award will be made to the best shipment time under the required 30 DARO. 8030-01-341-8609 UI: CN CORROSION RESISTANT COATING, CHEMICALLY TREATED ALUMINUM: DESCRIPTION In accordance with Military Specification MIL-DTL-81706B and Amendment 1, Chemical Conversion Materials for Coating Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys, dated May 2, 2006. QPL QUALIFICATION REQUIRED: QPL transformed to QPD, April 1, 2008. Please go to http://assist.daps.dla.mil/quicksearch/, and follow the steps below to view the QPD. 1. Input "81706" in "Document Number" field and click the Submit button. 2. Click on QPL-81706 under "Document ID" column. 3. Click on "Qualification" in the "Overview" section to view the QPD. Use: For use throughout the Department of Defense, on aluminum and aluminum alloy substrates that are not anodized. They are used to repair anodize coatings on aluminum. These coatings exceed commercially available products due to the nature of their use on aircraft. Type 1: compositions containing hexavalent chromium Class 1A: for maximum protection against corrosion, painted or unpainted Form 2: powder Method A: spray Size: The product shall be furnished in 60 lb quantities packaged in 5-gallon metal pails with an inner plastic liner of the type normally used for this product provided that there will be no interaction chemically or physically with the contents so as to damage the pails or alter the strength, quality, or purity of the contents. The pails shall be closed in a manner that will insure that the contents will not spill or leak from the pails during shipment, handling, storage, and redistribution. Shelf Life Code 6: Age on delivery shall not exceed 4 months. Date of reinspection shall be 24 months after date of manufacture. ITEM MARKING Special marking on each item shall include: (1) Manufacturer's name and part number (2) Lot or Batch Number (3) Dates of Manufacture and reinspection (4) Instructions for use, thinning, mixing, shaking, etc., on unit containers only (5) Precautionary markings that include the following on each container: "WARNING: Chemical conversion materials are strongly oxidizing and present a potential fire and explosion hazard in contact with flammable materials such as paint thinners. Avoid storing or mixing surface treatment materials in containers previously containing flammable products."
