- Description
- This is a Request for Information (RFI). There is no solicitation available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Any information submitted by respondents in response to this request for information is strictly voluntary. This RFI does not constitute a Request for Proposals (RFP), nor does its issuance restrict the Government to any ultimate acquisition approach. The Government will neither award a contract solely on the basis of this notice, nor pay for any information that may be submitted by respondents to this RFI. The purpose of this RFI is to gather market research to assist NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (NAVSUP FLC) Norfolk “ Mechanicsburg Office in acquiring a ship maintenance planning solution for the Management Systems Support Division (MSSD) in support of the Submarine Maintenance Engineering Planning Program (SUBMEPP), the Surface Maintenance Engineering Planning Program (SURFMEPP) and the Carrier Planning Activity (CPA). The existing maintenance planning solution was developed by the Navy in the 1990s for use by SUBMEPP and has been expanded to encompass SURFMEPP and CPA. The US Navy is seeking to implement a solution that will provide the capabilities to support ship/platform maintenance planning. The US Navy ™s maintenance requirements are expected to grow and change over time, as new ship platforms are brought into the inventory and old platforms are retired. The US Navy intends to acquire a solution that will support efforts to update and modernize the current maintenance planning tool. As part of the market research being gathered, the three planning activities are requesting vendor demonstrations using the attached information as a framework. These examples are designed to allow vendors to illustrate how their application would address operations considered essential to naval lifecycle maintenance planning. The following documents are attached to this notice: -Request for Demonstration -Copy of Platform Schedule -Configuration Data for Demonstration -Demonstration Location Information The demonstrations will be held the week of December 2, 2013 at the following address: Dell Federal service 383 Central Ave Suite 1 Dover, NH 03820 Vendors interested in participating in the demonstrations shall contact Lauren Johnson via email at lauren.johnson@navy.mil by November 22, 2013 at 6 pm EST. There will be two four-hour time slots each day. Additional time slots will be made available if needed. Vendors are requested to arrive no more than 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time slot. The room will contain a screen, projector and conference lines. It is recommended that Vendor bring their own computers. Vendors are not required to participate in the demonstrations. Vendors that do not participate in the demonstration process will not be precluded from participating in any RFP developed from this RFI. The Government will not pay for any expenses associated with the demonstration process.
