Description
SYNOPSIS - TS EMPIRE STATE FY14 PRE-CRUISE REPAIRS SOLICITATION will be available on or about November 12, 2013 on the FedBizOpps.gov website. Repair work shall be carried out on the Training Ship EMPIRE STATE while the vessel is at her permanent berth at SUNY MARITIME COLLEGE, 6 PENNYFIELD AVE., BRONX, NY 10465. The desired period of performance period is between March 1 and May 15, 2014. The list of work items to be performed include but are not limited to: 1. Annual ship safety radio survey 2. Calibrate oily water separator oil content meter 3. Perform inspections and testing of the lifeboat, rescue boat and life raft davits by Schat-Harding Service Engineer 4. Perform all ABS and USCG required inspections, maintenance and testing of all portable fire extinguishers, fixed and Semi-fixed CO2 systems, Halon systems, Portable O2 Monitor, Range Guard system, Rescue Boat Righting Bag, and SCBA packs and cylinders 5. Accomplish the annual inspection and certification of eighteen (18) inflatable life rafts 6. Provide up to a total of 120 hours of labor to assist the crew in addressing COI inspection deficiencies 7. Remove and dispose a minimum of 5,000 gallons of slops (oily water) 8. Refurbish six (6) shower compartments and their decks in six (6) separate berthing compartments that are have deteriorated and/or damaged joiner panels 9. Renew wasted steam supply and return piping to the Scullery's outboard dishwasher's water heater 10. Inspect and test all galley equipment for proper safe operation 11. Renew the steam supply piping to the named settler tank 12. ABS approved contractor to gauge the entire tank top of the Starboard Inboard and Outboard Settler to determine the extent of wastage and to provide the MARAD COR with a comprehensive report 13. Lifeboat OEM to remove the existing windshields and install new replacement windshields in lifeboats #3, 4, 5, & 6 14. Perform the required Annual Vibration and Thermography Analysis 15. Perform an operational check of all Boiler automated functions while the vessel's Steam plant is on-line 16. Crop and renew wasted tank vents or sections of wasted tank vents and vent covers or sections of vent covers as designated in the Statement of Work. 17. Renew non-slip stair nosing with approved materials 18. Purchase and deliver to the vessel seventy-five (75) mattresses as specified 19. Swap vessel's #2 cargo refrigeration compressor with reconditioned unit 20. Make permanent repairs to the vessel's fire main 21. Recondition the impacted Port MSD unit 22. Renew the sections of duct work indicated and to clean entire branch of duct work for Third Deck 156 and 20 person shower compartment 23. Recondition the #3 Hold's exhaust fan assembly and motor 24. Renew deteriorated and/or damaged lagging and insulation throughout the engine room and cargo holds 25. Accomplish the necessary Boiler maintenance to the satisfaction of the attending ABS Surveyor and USCG Marine Inspector(s) 26. Record additional sets of audio gauging as may be required by ABS Surveyor(s)
