Description

This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a Sources Sought publication only. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Please do not submit a proposal in response to this RFI. This notice is to assist the VA in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Sioux Falls Health Care System, is seeking potential Contractors capable of providing psychiatry services for eligible Veterans in the Sioux Falls, SD geographical area. These services are solely dedicated to Veteran patients of the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System. The VA Sioux Falls is looking for responses from contractors regarding their capability to provide 2.0FTE (2080 hours per FTE) psychiatrists, all work to be performed on-site at VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Work hours from 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday thru Friday. On-call services required. On-call tours will be rotated with VA staff. On-call hours are from 4:00pm - 8:00am Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. Services to be provided include: PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES: Psychiatric Services determined to be needed by each individual Veteran referred for treatment as stated in the plan developed by the contractor, with input from the Veteran. Services which the contractor must be able to furnish shall include: (1)The provision of direct patient care within outpatient Mental Health and Primary Care. (2)The demonstration of clinical competence in the field of psychiatry that is based on best evidenced practice i.e. diagnosis and treatment modalities. (3)The coordination/assistance of transfers to other units in the hospital, other health care agencies or other VA or community hospitals. (4) Completion of Mental Health consults within the Sioux Falls VAMC and via VTEL to respective CBOC's. (5)Treatment of all customers (internal and external) with courtesy and dignity. (6)Assistance with other functions and duties as assigned by the Medical Director of the Mental Health Service Line. (7)Compliance with all by-laws set by the Medical Director of the Mental Health Service Line. (8)Availability for scheduled on-call duties assigned by the Medical Director of the Mental Health Service Line. Additional Information: The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 621330, Offices of Mental Health Practitioners (size standard of $7 Million) or 621112 Offices of Physicians, Mental Health Specialists (size standard of $10Million). Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy. After review of responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond directly to the corresponding solicitation by submitting a proposal. The intended contract period will be for one base year and four, one-year option periods. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued.
