Description

SLAC intends to procure a 6 month preventative maintenance agreement for the Carl Zeiss Microscopy Model nanoXCT-S100 microscope by other than full and open competition under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 6.302. The service to be performed in the proposed contract: Coverage for the nanoXCT-S100 microscope shall include: Scheduled and emergency service by factory trained field service representatives, as required Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM; travel; one preventative maintenance inspection; replacement parts; tool upgrades/modifications; applications support/training; escalation support; software updates Carl Zeiss Microscopy is the manufacturer of this equipment needing the preventative maintenance agreement. This equipment requires highly trained service engineers that are factory certified to repair and provide service on Carl Zeiss Microscopy equipment. To the best of SLAC's knowledge, Carl Zeiss Microscopy is the only authorized source of factory trained service engineers to service and repair Carl Zeiss Microscopy equipment. They have access to the latest service information and support and utilize only OEM parts during repair or preventative maintenance. However, offerors who are authorized by Carl Zeiss Microscopy and capable of providing at a minimum, fifty-one percent (51%) of the required/actual services of this solicitation, may respond as an interested party.
