Description
RFQ The Customer is requesting to upgrade the current oxygen analyzer with a compatible analyzer of faster response rate, more robust enclosure that meets required specifications. Oxygen Analyzer Requirements Detector Technology: Paramagnetic oxygen analyzer Hazardous Area Classification: Class 1 Div 1 at measurement site (to be installed in a fire lab with various flammable materials in use) Range: 0-25% O2 Response time: < 4 s Linearity: < 0.02 % Accuracy: < 0.02 % Drift per week: < 0.05 % The Customer maintains an oxygen consumption calorimeter lab for the measurement of heat release rate from medium scale fires, of a maximum size of 1 MW. The primary instrument in the current measurement system is an oxygen analyzer. The current oxygen analyzer is a Servomex and is part of a proprietary system for measuring heat release rate. The current analyzer has a response time of greater than 10 s (T90), which when coupled with other delays in the system leads to an unacceptably long time between when a change in fire size occurs and when it is recognized by the system. A new analyzer with a response rate of less than 4 s (T90), and a robust, Class I Div. 1 enclosure is required so that the transmitter can be placed closer to the fire source. Installation of the analyzer will be completed by the Customer. The Servomex OxyExact 2200 Oxygen Analyzer is preferred because it is compatible with existing systems. The analyzer will be integrated with other current Servomex hardware as well as current data acquisition hardware and specialized analysis software designed to work with the existing system. The use of another analyzer system may require custom development and integration at a significantly higher cost.
