Description
Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: In accordance with FAR 8.402(f), this intended modification adds the following open market items/services to GSA Task Order VA243-13-F-2880 (to Caterpillar Inc. under GSA Schedule contract GS-07F-5666R) to purchase and install a Semi-Portable Truck-Mounted -2MW Roll-up Emergency Generator for the Manhattan VAMC to replace the generator lost during Hurricane Sandy. The items/services are: Freight, packaged enclosure, installation, startup and commissioning, testing, operator training, & manual fuel fill supply system As a result of Hurricane Sandy, adding these items to the current task order fulfills the VISN3 necessity: "to insure timely delivery and smooth coordination at each stage of the generator purchase - from manufacturer, to delivery, to installation, to testing and training. "to insure that accountability for the delivery, installation, adherence to all codes, and the functionality of the generator is limited to the Contractor. "to maintain and preserve the equipment warranty by utilizing the Contractor to provide all services, testing, and training required to install the generator and make it fully operational and compatible in all aspects with the existing electrical grid. This modification is valid for the generator installation period only. Any generator services and maintenance required subsequent to installation will be procured through a separate solicitation. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available for this requirement. Interested parties may submit a capability statement and pricing information for the requirement within 3 calendar days - by 11:00AM EST on Thursday, September 26, 2013 of the publication of this notice, to be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a separate competitive procurement.
