This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE only. Response to this notice will be used for information and planning purposes. No proposals or quotes are being requested or accepted with this notice. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS OR QUOTES and NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. This notice shall NOT be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (VAGCVHCS) is seeking to sole-source with Hologic, Inc., for a ThinPrep 2000 Imaging System to include the following supplies: Non-gyn Cost per Test; ThinPrep Pap Test Kit (includes Imager Usage Fee); Cytolyt 32 oz 4/PK; Cytolyt Cups, 50/PK; ThinPrep Microscope Slides 100/PK; Non-Gyn filters box of 100 filters; Cellient Filter Cassette Kit Box of 50 filters; and Cellient System Usage Fee. The Hologic ThinPrep2000 Imaging system will allow tests to be performed in-house with a quicker turnaround processing time, i.e., less than two days versus currently being processed within eight to twelve days. This system will improve performance and reporting of tests and specimens and improve the quality of direct patient care. The NAICS for this is 621511 (Medical Laboratories), size standard of $30.0 Million. Offeror's response to this Notice shall be limited to 5 pages and shall include the following information: "Offeror's company name, DUNS, address, point of contact, title, phone number, and email address; "Offeror's interest in bidding on the solicitation when it is issued; "Offeror's capability to meet this requirement (may include product literature) including any current and past orders/contracts (Civilian or Government); "Offeror's type of business (small or large) and socioeconomic status whether Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Veteran Owned, Hubzone, 8(a), Woman Owned, Small Disadvantaged, etc. Responses must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. Central Time September 27, 2013 and emailed to rene.impey@va.gov using "Sources Sought Notice VA256-13-Q-2161" in the subject line. Facsimile responses will not be accepted. After review of the responses to this sources sought notice, a solicitation announcement may be published on the FBO website (www.fbo.gov). Simply checking "'interested" is not considered an adequate response to the solicitation announcement. All interested parties are reminded to be registered with SAM.gov at http://www.SAM.gov in order to be eligible for award of Government contracts.
