- Description
- The United States Army Corps of Engineers, in accordance with FAR 6.302, intends to make a sole source award to a firm with the capability of providing repairs to Metal Mapper equipment. The Metal Mapper is an advanced Time Domain Electromagnetic system. The anticipated source is Geometrics, Inc. 2190 Fortune Drive, San Jose, CA 95131. This is not a formal solicitation or request for quote. This synopsis of intent is to give notice of the Government's intent to make a sole source award. Contractors who can provide the U. S Army Engineering and Support Center with the required services are invited to electronically submit an affirmative, written response indicating a bona fide ability to meet this specific requirement. Specifications for this requirement are as follows: The contractor shall replace assemblies that have corrosion, update current software, and test equipment to production specifications. This damage is due to typical field use over a prolonged period. HNC personnel utilize the Metal Mapper to reliably discriminate between buried Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) items and other metallic objects as part of the Military Munitions Remedial Response. The unit is currently malfunctioning. The Universal Serial Bus (USB) and Digital Visual Interface (DVI) connectors are damaged on the Metal Mapper Central Processing Unit (CPU) module. All analog PCI Extensions for Instrumentation (PXI) units exhibit corrosion caused from moisture and connectors are corroded at the mounting hardware locations. The receiver module also has water damage to the PC board. Lastly, the battery box has a broken terminal. Responses should appear on company letterhead and include, at minimum, affirmation of active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM), your Data Universal Number System (DUNS) number, any applicable processed credentials and qualifications, and any applicable pricing data or information. All responses should include a point of contact, telephone number, and electronic mail address. Additionally, respondents should indicate whether they are a large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, 8(a) concern, women-owned small business, HUBZone, service disabled veteran-owned small business, or qualify as socially or economically disadvantaged and whether they are U.S. or foreign owned. Responses to this notice will be used to determine the availability of this type of service. All responsible sources may respond to this synopsis and all responses will be considered by the agency. Responses should be furnished electronically to the contacts listed below not later than 5:00 PM Central Standard Time, 20 September 2013. Contract Specialist: Ms. Lisa M.
