- Synopsis: The US Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration intends to award a sole source contract to ResCare, Inc, 9901 Linn Station Road, Louisville, KY 40223. The statutory authority permitting the acquisition of this requirement by other than full and open competition is 41 USC 254(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. Job Corps is a national training program that provides comprehensive academic, residential and career technical and training services to approximately 60,000 disadvantaged youth each year at 125 Job Corps centers nationwide. This requirement is for the operation of the Blue Ridge Job Corps Center located in Marion, VA. The anticipated period of performance is a three(3) month base period; with three (3), three month option periods. Option one (1) consists of a three month option; Option two (2) provides for a three month option and Option three (3) also provides for a three month option. The requirement includes the provision of academic, career technical, career success skills and career development training and related support services for an estimated 157 students (154 residential and 3 non residential). The contractor shall operate residential quarters (housing) and services to all students as applicable. This is a sole source notice published for informational purposes only and not a request for proposals. Therefore, no solicitation documents exist for this requirement. However, all responsible parties interested in responding to this notice are invited to submit a capability statement including costs by 12:00 pm EST NLT October 4, 2013 that provides sufficient details for consideration by the Government, via email transmittal to lawrence.tanyka@dol.gov. The determination not to compete the contract based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communication are not acceptable in response to this notice.
