Description
Request for Quotation The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center, located in Honolulu, HI. is seeking a contractor to processing batches of 150-200 gonad histology cassettes at a time for histological preparation. Cassettes preserved in either Formalin or Glyo-Fixx will be delivered to the Contractor for embedding, thin-sectioning (~ 5 micron thickness), staining with hematoxylin and eosin counterstaining, mounting of the stained thin-sections onto a glass slide, followed by placement of a protective cover slip and sealant over the mounted stain sections. Based on available slide space and cross-sectional area of the stained gonad sample, multiple sections from the same gonad will be mounted within the available space on the glass slide. The slide will include the specimen identification number transcribed from the corresponding histology cassette; completed slides will be placed inside protective slide boxes for subsequent transport. NOAA intends to issue a fixed price purchase order. To be considered, firms must furnish detailed information concerning their capability to provide service. Such information shall include, at a minimum, name, telephone number and address of concerns for which you have furnished this service previously. Information should provide sufficient detail that demonstrates the firm's knowledge and ability to perform the requirement. This support service is being procured under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items Procedures as supplemented with additional information included in this notice and in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized in FAR Part 13. This is a simplified acquisition estimated value not to exceed $150,000.00. The entire solicitation is attached. No further solicitation documents will be issued. Submissions received in response to this notice shall be evaluated based on demonstrated technical ability to successfully provide the required services as stated herein. Interested parties must respond within seven (7) days after publication of this notice. The NACIS code for this action is 541690 The Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must have a valid Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNS) and be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/, with an active status, to be eligible for award.
