- Description
- The VA New York Harbor Healthcare System (St Albans Campus) has a requirement for an annual lease of three refrigerated trucks and seeks responses from vendors that can provide all labor, materials, maintenance and equipment required for the rental, delivery and pick-up of diesel-powered refrigerated trucks. Contractor must provide three trucks with the following: Diesel fuel powered; The latest models conventional cab chassis - MFG, GVWR from 29,000 to 33,000 lbs.; Power steering; Automatic transmission; Air conditioning; Tinted glass windows; Low back suspension driver's seat; Cloth covered seats; STD passenger seat; AM/FM stereo radio; Anti-lock hydraulic braking systems with four-wheel disc brakes. Trucks will have self-contained refrigeration units to be used in both diesel and electric refrigeration units. Types of products that will be hauled are frozen and non-frozen foods in large cabinets that must be secured to the sides of truck body. The refrigeration unit must be able to keep temperatures capable of maintaining frozen products, 24 hours a day, seven days per week during period of use. Depending on the product planned to haul, refrigeration units should be capable of maintaining temperatures below 32 ° F (for frozen products) or 40 ° F (for chilled products). NOTE: Do not submit quotes at this time; this is an RFI to seek sources. This contract will include Four Option Years. Truck Requirements: Truck #1: Two Refrigeration Trucks with: conventional cab chassis, [24ft inside length, 88 inches inside width, 76 inches rear door height]; two rows of "E" track on side walls; (4) Retaining bars; insulated roll up rear door; grad handles at rear door; service steps and grab handles to refrigeration units; service platform. Truck must be equipped with a "Tuck-a-Way" lift gate with a minimum capacity of 2500lbs; have a 72 inches X 35 inches with 5inch ramp; Truck Payload must be between 14,000 and 17,000 lbs.; must be equipped with directional signals, two "west coast" mirrors, ICC running lights, reflectors, mud flaps, triangle markers, two fire extinguishers, seat belts for driver and passenger. Refrigeration Units: are to be Thermo King or equal; independent diesel unit with electric standby to include approved electric hookup cords of 30-feet length; must be capable of maintaining 32 ° F or lower while on the road for six to eight hours; must have 24-hour monitors attached with a relay to the driver for monitoring and a recording device for record keeping; must work when parked using house electricity. Truck #2: One Refrigeration Truck with: conventional cab chassis, [16ft inside length, 88 inches inside width, 76 inches rear door height]; two rows of "E" track on side walls; (4) Retaining bars; insulated roll up rear door; grad handles at rear door; service steps and grab handles to refrigeration units; service platform.
