Description
USDOT RFP/Solicitation for Vehicle Barrier Installation Department of Transportation (USDOT), Office of the Secretary (OST), Building Engineering M-91 The contractor will provide the removal/demolition of the existing vehicle barriers, and for the supply, installation, testing and training of four (4) electrically operated steel- plate Active Vehicle Barrier Systems (AVBS), each with dimensions sized to effectively replace the four (4) existing hydraulic vehicle barriers at the U.S. Department of Transportation Headquarters Building located at 1200 New Jersey Avenue, S.E., Washington, D.C. 20590. All System work used for this project is required to be performed by the manufacturer or a manufacturer's authorized representative trained in the installation, adjustment and operation of the equipment and systems supplied. The manufacturer's representative shall also be present during adjustment and testing of the AVBS. The System used for this project must have been crash tested and/or listed on the most current Department of Defense Approved Anti-Ram Vehicle Certification List, currently maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, or Department of State, with a rating of K 12 L3 or ASTM M50/ P1. The design and structural materials of the System furnished must be the same as those used in the crash tested System. The crash test must have been performed by an approved independent testing agency in accordance with either ASTM F 2656 or SD-STD-02.01 guidelines. The System used for this project must have a cycle tested operating and mechanical system proven to exceed 1,000,000 continuous cycles without failure of any component necessary for its continued operation. Anticipated contract shall be a Firm-Fixed Price contract for the USDOT, OST Building Engineering, M-91 in accordance with requirements set forth in the Statement of Work included herein (Attachment 1) with a Period of Performance Not To Exceed six (6) months upon award.
