- In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP), Federal Correctional Institution, Elkton, Ohio intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with GE Healthcare Waukesha, WI, for the following : Maintenance agreements for GE XR Definium 8000 and GE XR Definium 5000 machines to include tube coverage, detector coverage, tech support, software updates and a response time of 4 hours or less Monday through Friday. This is not a Request for Proposal or Quote. Please do not request a copy of a solicitation. This announcement constitutes the only notification by the FBOP. The North American Industry Classification System code is 811219 with a small business size standard of $19 million. The requirement for the FBOP is a maintenance program for GE X-ray Machines. The purchase will be for Maintenance agreements for GE XR Definium 8000 and GE XR Definium 5000 machines to include tube coverage, detector coverage, tech support, software updates and a response time of 4 hours or less Monday through Friday. This will be a firm fixed price contract. Any vendor that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Be advised that this notice does not constitute an obligation upon the Government to pursue follow-on contract action, in part or whole, with potential vendors. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source acquisition to GE Healthcare. All responses shall be e-mailed to bchestnut@bop.gov or faxed to the following number (330) 420-6445 no later than September 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm eastern standard time.
