Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. The Kansas City, MO VA Medical Center is seeking businesses that can provide single chamber temporary pacemakers that remain external to the patient. SINGLE CHAMBER EXTERNAL PULSE GENERATOR / PACEMAKER Medical equipment manufacturer will provide ten temporary single-chamber pacemakers. These devices are used in the cardiac catheterization lab for therapeutic, prophylactic, or diagnostic purposes. Use Cases: "Treatment of patients before an operation to implant a permanent pacemaker "Treatment of acute myocardial infarction "Treatment of patients after heart surgery Features: "Constant voltage device "Can be used as either intracardial signal-inhibited pacemaker or asynchronous pacemaker "Transvenous, myocardial or transthoracic applied electrodes can be used "All makes of unipolar and bipolar electrodes can be used, directly connected or with a corresponding adapter "For safety, pacemaker switches automatically to pre-set asynchronous frequency when in the vicinity of high interference fields "Zener diode in pacemaker output protects against large impulse voltages, such as those used for electrical defibrillation "Special internal circuitry allows for constant monitoring of the battery voltage, allowing for battery depletion warnings All components need to be compatible and ready to be connected for use for patient care. This Sources sought is for informational purposes and all businesses able to provide this equipment are encouraged to submit information regardless of business size. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to any future solicitation announcements.
