Description
This Request for Information (RFI) is released pursuant to FAR Part 15.201(e), Exchanges with Industry, and all interested parties are encouraged to respond. This request is for information purposes only. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION: no award will be made as a result of this request. The Government will not pay for information and materials received in response to this synopsis and is in no way obligated by the information received. To achieve these objectives, the U.S. Department of State seeks information regarding the current CMS and website development market in the United States. This inquiry is for market research purposes only. We are seeking information from vendors with the ability to: •Understand and operate the Omeka open source web-publishing platform. •Create comprehensive and user-friendly educational websites that embodies a certain brand and mission. •Develop and /or utilize a publically accessible collections CMS for that contains the data, metadata, metadata tags, vocabularies, links to core standards, and similar for approximately 800 historic objects. •Migrate data and metadata for approximately 800 oScript the import for all collection metadata and collection files for objects including text and images, text the script, verify data and file integrity. •Create supporting historic content for approximately 800 historic objects including writing descriptions to historically contextualize items. •Create 20-30 metadata tags / information for key people, places, and events. •Create a digital exhibit •Create two (2) learning modules, tied to Common Core teaching standards, that provide students at the middle and high school levels with instruction materials that utilize the Collection and emphasize the acquisition of historical thinking skills. oConvene meetings with partner institutions to determine appropriate and useful ways to link objects to Common Core teaching standards oDetermine topics for two (2) learning modules oConduct secondary research and acquire supporting primary sources for the two (2) topics / learning modules selected oDevelop learning activities with master teacher; incorporate into two (2) modules oReview of modules and make revisions as necessary oSuccessfully launch learning module •Working with staff to create publicity, marketing, and social media plan to support the launch of the new educational website. •Prepare for launch of new educational website including creating and reviewing text, photos, and capabilities of new website, training staff on updating / modifying site, and setting up domain name redirection to externally hosted site. •Launch new educational website, ensuring that website is fully functional and devoid of bugs / issues / errors, and is fully functional on all common platforms including Mac, PC, Android, iPhone, tablet, and other common interfaces. •Update metadata quarterly to capture new data from MIMSY collections management system. oCreate an update script that harvests new data for selected items without overwriting existing data. •Host and maintain external website NAICS Code: 541519 Other Computer Related Services Interested sources are requested to submit an email delineating qualification, capabilities, and experience for providing these services. Sources must sufficiently demonstrate the capability to perform these services and must provide detailed experience and qualifications in all previous work pertinent to this effort.
