- NOTICE: SOLE-SOURCE ANNOUNCEMENT 1. The SLC VAMC require Monthly support and maintenance for the AutoMed (ADDS) medication dispensing machine owned by Salt Lake VA Med Center and used by our CBOC clinics. The equipment has enabled the VA to dispense certain medications in our rural area treatment centers. The equipment securely stores, and dispenses medications when providers at the CBOC process prescriptions for patients needing medications urgently. This service agreement is to keep equipment in top performance, replace worn parts, update operating system, and minimize any down time. This support and maintenance is critical to our rural area Pharmacy Service program. Vendor will have no access to VA computer systems and/or secure areas. 2. The VA Salt Lake City Health Care System has a continuous and uninterrupted need for maintenance services of automated drug dispensing systems located at three Community Based Outpatient Clinics, CBOCs. This electronic precision equipment requires technical field service support of machine and software which is patent and copyright protected information. In order to maintain warranty coverage only the manufacturer can provide these maintenance services. The dispensing equipment is installed at the CBOCs and is digitally integrated into the VA VISTA software. They provide password protected control of medication dispensing and inventory accountability. This is an essential and critical service that ensures uninterrupted pharmacy support to the veterans within the Salt Lake City service area. The contractor, AutoMed Technologies, Inc on contract V797P-4251B has provided the maintenance services and is the only source with the proprietary information and trained field service support for the automated drug dispensing systems. The estimated dollar value of this purchase is approximately $19,923.84 for the period October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2014. 3. POC for this requirement is Steven R.
