- This is a Notice of Intent of the NIH Clinical Center, The Department of Bioethic Center with David Wasserman JD MA, of 4323 Woodberry Street, University Park, Maryland, 20782 to collaborate on bioethics research related to the ethics of modifying memories and emotions, understanding ethical issues related to disability, and examining issues of role morality of physicians and researchers. Dr. Wasserman works on issues of genetics, disability, reproduction and research ethics. His currently works in examining some of the controversies about the duties of physicians and clinical researchers in terms of role morality and to assess how professional and social roles can be sources of moral reasons. In the past years, he has participated in the CC Department of Bioethics Joint Bioethics Colloquium and his areas of expertise and current research compliment and supports those of members of the CC Department of Bioethics. His considerable background in research ethics and his teaching and mentoring skills will augment those of the current departmental faculty and he will collaborate with faculty who share similar research interests. He will mentor post-doctoral and pre-doctoral fellow(s) through all aspects of the fellowship, both research and academic components. The Government intends to award a sole source purchase order (FAR 12) under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. All responses received within 10 days of the publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The intended period of performance for this requirement is 12 months with up to four successive options. It is firm fixed price with 20 hours per week.
