Description

***AMENDMENT 001*** The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions: Question 1: Would the manufacturer's warranty for leak integrity of the system be invalidated if parts are machined? (Conflat flange thicknessess less than standard thicknesses is listed). Answer: It is the contractors responsibility to communicate with the manufacturer. The manufacturer may choose not to thin the exterior flanges, with increased bake time. Question 2: The paragraph implies that all flanges must be baked in accordance with the stated requirement, which implies that they are to be baked before assembly into the chamber. Do the flanges have to be baked prior to assembly into the chamber, and must the chamber then be baked a second time to the stated requirements? Answer: The flanges may be baked before or after assembly. Question 3: If the chamber is welded after bake-out of the components, does the assembled chamber require an additional electropolish prior to final bake-out? Answer: All electro polishing and welding must be done before bake.
