- Description
- DARPA-SN-13-44 The Defense Sciences Office (DSO) of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is hosting the Warrior Web Task B: Advanced Technology Development Proposers' Day that will provide critical information on the program vision, program objectives, and opportunities associated with the development of an interdisciplinary proposal to respond to DARPA-BAA-13-43. DARPA-BAA-13-43, entitled "Warrior Web Task B: Advanced Technology Development", is soliciting innovative multidisciplinary research proposals in technology areas related to advanced controls, technology-to-human interface and sensors, injury mitigation and prevention, human performance enhancement, assistive wearable technologies, or an integrated effort to develop a system comprising multiple areas. The Warrior Web Task B effort aims to develop wearable technology to improve human capabilities with an emphasis on warfighter effectiveness, injury mitigation and improved human performance. Technologies developed under this effort are expected to conform to the Warrior Web vision of an undersuit that decreases fatigue by augmenting work done by the human muscles, reduces joint forces by optimal management of dynamics and kinematics, increases human performance by promoting improved form and function through a wide range of activities. Success of the technologies will be verified via robust biomechanical modeling tools and human subjects testing. Additionally, Warrior Web Task B seeks proposals that apply wearable technology to applications beyond those described above such as rehabilitation, physical therapy, medical applications, or improved quality of life.
