Description

The United States Deptartment of Agriculture(USDA), Animal and Plant Inspection Service, Ames, IA, intend to issue a sole source purchse order with Illumina, Inc for the purchase of MiSeq Next - Generation Sequencer. Illumina, Inc, is the manufacturer of the instrument and provider of all consumables. The MiSeq instrument emplays a robust non-bead based chemistry which is more stable than other available methods for performing next-generation sequencing. The proposed contract action is for equipment for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only only one one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intend is not a request for competitive proposals. Simiplifed procurement procedures will be used as well as commercial item acquisition procedures per FAR 12.
