- Description
- The 27th Special Operations Contracting Squadron at Cannon AFB NM intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to Harris Corporation, for Line Item 0001:Exchange four PRC-152 currently owned by 73 SOS for credit toward purchase of four PRC-152A radios with updated hardware and software for increased comm capabillity with AC-130W. This award is restricted to Harris Corporation, and is under North American Industry Classification System Code 334220 with a small business size standard of 750. This sole source action is being accomplished under the authority of FAR, 6.302-1(a)(2); When the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source, or, for DOD, NASA, and the Coast Guard, from only one or a limited number of responsible sources, and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, full and open competition need not be provided for. and 13.501(a)(1)(iii); Make publicly available the justifications (excluding brand name) required by 6.305(a) within 14 days after contract award or in the case of unusual and compelling urgency within 30 days after contract award, in accordance with 6.305 procedures at paragraphs (b), (d), (e), and (f). The government believes that PRC-152 currently owned by 73 SOS for credit toward purchase of four PRC-152A radios is a patented and proprietary commercial product that can only be acquired through Harris Corporation, and no other products are available that can support the 27 SOS with updated hardware and software for increased comm capabillity with AC-130W. This notice is NOT a request for quote, however, interested companies shall submit to the contracting officer a brief capabilities statement package (no more than 10 pages in length, single spaced, and 12 point font minimum) demonstrating ability to perform the requested services at or before 1:00 PM (Mountain), 5 Sep, 2013. Any information received will only be considered for the purpose of conducting a competitive procurement. This contract will be below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. A firm-fixed price order will be issued in writing. Anticipated award is 6 Sep, 2013. Submit any information, questions, or comments to the points of contact listed below.
