- Notice of Contract Action. Sources Sought Synopsis. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) anticipates entering into a sole source contract for the items describe in this notice. The proposed contractor is TECAN U.S, PO Box 13953, Research Triangle PK, NC 27705 (DUNS: 105868038, CAGE: 1GUA3). The contractor shall provide EVO 200, which is automated liquid handling robot, designed for high volume throughput processing of bio-specimens samples. The EVO 200 will be modified for high throughput assessment and normalization of Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA), samples purified from you human blood and for preparing plates for send out. This acquisition is part of VA ongoing laboratory processes and storage of specimen for clinical trail's run by VA Cooperative Studies Program. (US Department of Veterans Affairs, Million Veterans Program, MAVERIC Laboratory, Boston, Massachusetts). The laboratory is involved in large scale genomics project that requires processing of up to 1,000 samples a day in addition to existing and ongoing processing for other Cooperative Studies Program projects. The equipment is necessary to guarantee accurate and sufficient operation of the machines, provide study stake-holders and analysis labs with high quality DNA, and to facilitate the processing of such large volume of samples. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which will be considered by the agency. The VA welcomes market information and comparative information from such vendors and contractors who are engaged in similar advanced research comparable to EVO 200 liquid handling robot. The NAICS code is 334516. The FSC 6515. This notice is current through FAC 05-69 August 1, 2013. A decision not to complete this requirement is based upon this notice and the Justification and Approval to posted to this web site. Service Disabled and Veteran-Owned Small business (SDVOSB and VOSB) contracting with the VA are to self-register and be certified in VetBiz if seeking consideration under PL 109-461(www.vetbiz.gov -Vendor information Pages -VIP). All contractors are required to be registered in SAM (www.sam.gov) and shall complete representations and certifications.
