Description

USDA GIPSA DIRECTIVE 9180-38 The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA), Federal Grain Inspection Services (FGIS) facility located in Portland, Oregon intends to award a sole source Purchase Order to Perten Instruments, Inc. located in Springfield, IL for a Perten brand Falling Number Apparatus 1700 and Lab Mill 3100 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). The Perten brand grain testing equipment will be used provide an accurate determination of Falling Numbers in grain samples. Perten grain testing equipment is the standardized equipment per USDA GIPSA Directive 9180.38 (attached) for the Falling Number test to analyze the alpha-amylase enzyme activity in traded grains for detecting sprout damage. The specific Perten grain testing equipment to be purchased is used by all FGIS locations across the United States to determine consistent results for exported shipments of grain. The anticipated Purchase Order value is not-to-exceed $25,875.00. This notice is for informational purposes only. No formal solicitation will be issued.
