Description

Grand Canyon Fire Alarm Inspection ** THERE IS A PRINTER FRIENDLY VERSION OF THIS SOLICITATION AVAILABLE IN FEDCONNECT. This is a "Public Opportunity", reference number P13PS01735. ** This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 12.6, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document, and the incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-54, The FAC, is available at https://www.acquisition.gov/FAR. The resulting award will be a firm fixed-priced contract with economic price adjustment, with one base year plus three optional years. The National Park Service (NPS) exercises its right to extend the contract every 12 months for the next 12 months in accordance with the vendor's quote in response to this solicitation. The contractor must accept & perform in accordance with the extended contract and prices listed in the proposal. The anticipated award date for this contract is 09 September 2013. The base year of the contract shall be from the date of award through the next 12 months. The Government reserves the right to not exercise an optional year, and terminate the contract for convenience. This procurement is set aside 100% for small businesses under all applicable NAICS codes, including, but not limited to, 922160 & 561621. Each bidder's SAM record must indicate that the business is small under the applicable NAICS code. The business that accomplishes this contract must register, submit all invoices through, and be paid via, the Invoice Processing Platform. For more information, and to register, please visit www.IPP.gov. Each bidder must provide references for two projects of similar magnitude completed within the last 8 years. Quotes must be valid for at least 30 days. National Park Service, Grand Canyon (NPS GRCA) is soliciting the services of a Field Service Technician (a Certified Fire Protection Company is preferred, but not required) to perform Annual Inspection, Testing, Maintenance (ITM) and certification of all sprinkler system and fire and intrusion alarm systems in NPS owned and operated property throughout GRCA. This includes properties on the South Rim, Desert View, North Rim, and Inner Canyon. Grand Canyon is a large remote location. The South Rim has the majority of the systems. Desert View is 25 miles from the South Rim. The North Rim is 210 miles from the South Rim. The testing of the Inner Canyon will require a multi-day hike covering 23 mile starting at the North Rim (8,000 feet), down to Phantom Ranch (1800 feet) and back up to the South Rim (7,000 feet). All parts, materials, and tools will be provided by the contractor. Contractor(s) shall participate in Pre-Job Briefings to ensure that good communications are established with engineering, maintenance and fire department staff prior to any work beginning.
